28/05/2013 - INTERZUM 2013

.

In our opinion a visit to this biennial exhibition is a must for everyone working in the furniture industry.

.

Why? Here are same data of the just-ended edition:

.

53000 visitors from 148 countries ; 1512 exhibitors from 62 nations (266 Italian companies); 70% of foreign visitors; +6% of area reserved for the exhibition compared to the edition of 2011.

.

We took some notes and ideas that we want to share.

.

Reading the official reports and the post -exhibition interviews, our experience reflects the official feedbacks of the promoters. The technological innovation level and the design of the exposed products is particularly high. In reply to the decreasing demand for furniture in Europe (and not only), the trend of the various areas within the production of components is an increase in the use of "sustainable" - not only environmentally but also economically - components from many points of view. The approach tends to aim at limiting the superfluous, reducing the product to its essential function.

.

In our world, the world of everything which has to do with frontal parts which give aesthetic value to the kitchen, the use of decors and patterns with wood effects are still widespread.

.

.

The quality level of the prints reached a high standard and the products which don't offer really alternative and distinguishing features face the high competition of this technology which represents an interesting compromise between product functionality and price.

.

What about wood?

.

Wood, as we consider it, remains an interesting alternative. Real wood continue to be the desire of a public who wishes something more, something which is actually given by the uniqueness of each piece. Despite its industrial production wood still remains a living material which feeds both eyes and touch in a genuine, different and true way.
